PBC Global Connections

We are a worldwide mission-minded church and see supporting mission as a vital part of our commitment to the Gospel of Jesus.
We thank God for giving us the opportunity of partnering with individuals both overseas and here in the UK, as they work to spread the Gospel in different ways and in different places.

Acts 1:8

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem (Community),

and in all Judea and Samaria (Country)

and to the ends of the earth.” (Continent)

Pursuing a call to study theology at Moorland College, Gareth has worked for several different Christian agencies. Gareth is now Church Engagement Manager for the Bible Society, inspiring and encouraging UK churches in greater involvement with the work of the Bible Society.

His particular passion is for the Bible to be at the centre of our public discussions during this time of great uncertainty in the UK and has always loved giving Bible talks with contemporary application.

Adam Feak

Having struggled as a child with lacking confidence, into my teens the dark hole of low self-esteem and self-worth continued, which was only helped by drink and drugs. This sadly became an 8-year battle with addiction.

Only through coming to faith in God, and filled with His Holy Spirit, was I released from addition to drink and drugs. Having experienced this amazing change in my life, and discovering that only the Lord could have done this, I believe He has called me to serve those who have experienced similar battles.

That is why I am now serving as a prison chaplain in a nearby prison, with a focus on resettling prisoners into the Church with the charity ‘Christian Prison Resourcing’. The Church is the place for true transformation. My hope is to see more and more prison leavers transformed by the body of Christ – as I myself was transformed.

Adam, encouraged by his wife Suzanne, worships at PBC.

John & Ketani Matiza

UCCZ & Smile International

Pictures of our Mission Partners

John served as a Pastor in Zimbabwe, coming to the UK for further theological study: B.A. (Moorlands) & M.A (All Nations). During this time, the family established a close link with our church. They knew God’s call back to Zimbabwe, despite an ongoing difficult situation. Initially both worked for a Christian International aid agency: ‘Smile International’, organising support and feeding programmes for children, widows & Pastors.

Subsequently working with OM Zimbabwe, John set up a programme for Lay Evangelists training them to evangelise their own people. He has currently trained over 100 Evangelists, with training costs assisted by PBC.

John recently had the honour of being elected President of the United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe (UCCZ) now overseeing the whole church community throughout Zimbabwe, with a vision for evangelism and mission.

Ketani continues the feeding programmes with Smile International, however foods are scarce due to lack of financial support for the charity.

Jordan & Annalena Whalen

Prepare International

Jordan was brought up at PBC and inspired to mission by a short term trip to Moldova with our Pastor and a team of PBC youth. Following 3 years of medical study, he took a gap year to return to Moldova and attend an OM Discipleship Course. There he met Annalena (Belgian) and both of them felt God’s call to step into mission. They married and began life together in Belgium, working with a church plant. Now, they live in Poland and Jordan is working globally with Metamorphic, who train church planters. Annalena is transitioning into life as an artist and a mum. They are also both involved in reaching the large international community of Krakow.

'Leoma' People

Wycliffe 'Leoma' Project

Pictures of our Mission Partners

Wycliffe Bible Translators in undertaking a translation of the Bible for a People Group in South Asia know as the ‘Leoma’ people. They number 15 million, in a largely Muslim country but without a Bible in their own language. Three local ‘Leoma’ speakers have been working on this project and the New Testament is nearly complete, with plans to translate the Psalms and a number of stories from the Old Testament.

Over the last year, one of the main highlights for the team has been the launching of a website showcasing all kinds of cultural and literacy materials in Leoma. The hope is that trust will steadily build as people see content coming from people like them. The aim is to go on, eventually, to share portions of Scripture. Also, there are plans for oral scripture translations for many of the community who are illiterate.
