Mission Strip Global Connections (Wix).j

We are a worldwide mission-minded church and see supporting mission as a vital part of our commitment to the Gospel of Jesus.

We thank God for giving us the opportunity of partnering with individuals both overseas and here in the UK, as they work to spread the Gospel in different ways and in different places.

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;

and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem

(Community),

and in all Judea and Samaria

and to the ends of the earth.”

Sue Wall

This community humanitarian agency, based in Ringwood at ‘Hope HQ’ has the motto: ‘Loving & Sharing to make a Difference’. It was started by Sue and her husband with support from PBC, wanting to reflect the love of God in Christ Jesus towards those in desperate need.
There are a large group of volunteers with strong links with other Ringwood Churches and agencies. Through agency referrals they offer furniture, white goods, small electricals and clothes. Also, there are opportunities for both cookery classes and gardening. People are welcomed with coffee and chat at a seated area overlooking the Millstream.

Engagement Manager for the Bible Society, inspiring and encouraging UK churches to greater involvement with the work of the Bible Society.

John & Ketani Matiza

Having served as a Pastor in Zimbabwe, John came to the UK for further theological study for a B.A. (Moorlands) & M.A (All Nations), during which time he and his wife Ketani established a close link with our church. They spent an additional year in the UK, but knew God’s call back to Zimbabwe, even though the situation there at the time was, and continues to be, very difficult. On their return, they initially both worked for a Christian International aid agency: ‘Smile International’, organising support and feeding programmes for children, widows & Pastors.
Subsequently John worked with OM Zimbabwe, setting up a programme for Lay Evangelists, training them to evangelise their own people. So far John has trained over 100 Evangelists, who on graduating received an African Bible commentary. Training costs were supported by PBC.
Following 4 years as Vice-President of United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe (UCCZ) John recently had the honour of being overwhelmingly elected President of UCCZ, now overseeing the whole church community throughout Zimbabwe, with a vision for evangelism and mission.
Ketani continues the feeding programmes with Smile International, however foods are scarce due to lack of financial support.

OM

Jordan & Annalena Whalen

Jordan was brought up at PBC and inspired to mission by a summer short term trip to Moldova with our Pastor and a team of young people from PBC. Following 2 years of medical study he took a gap year to return to Moldova to attend an OM Discipleship Course. There he met Annalena (Belgian) and both of them felt God’s call to full-time evangelistic ministry. They subsequently married, initially living in Belgium working with a small church planting group.
Feeling the need for further training they are now living in Krakow, Poland, training with ‘Prepare International’ and linked for ministry with ‘Church for the City’.

Wycliffe 'Leoma' Project"

'Leoma' People

Wycliffe Bible Translators is undertaking a translation of the Bible for a people group in South Asia known as ‘Leoma’ (a pseudonym for security purposes). The ‘Leoma’ number 15 million in a largely Muslim country, but without a Bible in their own language. Three local ‘Leoma’ speakers have been working on this project and the New Testament is nearly complete, with plans to translate the Psalms and a number of stories from the Old Testament.
Recently, one of the main highlights for the team has been the launching of a website showcasing all kinds of cultural and literacy materials in ‘Leoma’. Hopefully trust will steadily build as people view this content . The aim eventually is to share portions of Scripture online in addition to the printed word. There will be oral scripture translations for many of the community who are illiterate.
