What is Such Love?

Such Love is a project I (Ben) and others have set up in the Youth Group at PBC. The aim is to be a blessing to the people of Ringwood through simple acts of kindness. I was inspired to do this when I heard in the church news of a girl being raped and a guy getting beaten up in Ringwood and thought to myself 'Where Is the love?' This is where the name "Such Love" comes from.

What's the purposes of Such love?

The purpose of Such Love is not to bring people to Church or even bring people to faith. The sole purpose of Such Love is to be a blessing through acts of kindness and that's it. These can be litter picking, painting over graffiti or other ways to help the community.

Why do this?

Jesus taught us to love our neighbours and to be humble. He said, 'For the least of my brothers you did unto me'. Jesus washed feet which was a task for the lowest of the low, humbling himself before his followers. The thing is that Jesus didn't do it because he wanted people to follow him, he did it because he loved people. This is why we do simple act of kindness, to show the same love to people.

Where is it held and how can I get involved?

Such Love is held every second to last Saturday of every month. Anyone can get involved: young or old. Just have the willingness to serve others. Future dates for Such Love will be posted on the website and youth notice board.
