The Chapel has been involved in mission since the Old Thatch’s consecration in 1840. Over the years it has held firm to the belief that the Christian church is that unique organisation whose prime function is for the benefit of its NON members. We believe that Christ’s command, recorded in Acts 1:8 applies to us today with an equal if not a greater imperative. Ever since 1840 PBC has been supporting and sending people to take the GOOD NEWS of the Gospel of Salvation to our own community, our nation and to “The ends of the earth”. You will see from the rest of PBC’s website that we, as a fellowship, have grown and so has our commitment to mission. 20% of our general giving is dedicated to mission. This significant fund and its investment in God’s servants is overseen by a team of members known as the Mission Group. One particular encouragement in recent years is the number of “home grown” young people who have heeded God’s call who are either now in full time Christian service or under training. To get a feel as to how we, at PBC, seek to be obedient to Christ’s command please explore the picture links on the left.
