John and Margaret Carrick
John and Margaret have been serving MECO for over twelve years, John now being their Area Director for the Northern hemisphere. MECO (Middle East Christian Outreach) is a group of people with a heart for the Middle East; in vision for ME churches to engage in effective mission. MECO aims to be sensitive to local culture, learn the language and stay around for the long term.
John and Margaret joined MECO in the 1990s having previously served as the much loved pastor and pastor’s wife, of PBC for 12 years. Those links forged in fellowship remain strong. John’s role and often Margaret’s too, involves much travelling both in and outside of the Middle East, teaching and encouraging those on the front line. Please remember the Middle Eastern churches in your thought and prayers as they often find themselves serving their communities in very challenging circumstances.
They have recently returned to Scotland, based in Largs, where John continues with the work of MECO, from their home base, with monthly visits to the HQ in Tunbridge Wells.
