Andy & Cherry:

After theological training at Moorlands College, where Andy was able to specialise in cross-cultural studies, he and Cherry served for the church in northwest Turkey. Working in a 99% Muslim context and an urban setting, they supported and encouraged the few Christians who live there: an area that for many years has seen little or no Christian witness. Now, since a literal handful of Turkish believers have begun meeting together, there is the real prospect of seeing a church established. The growth is slow and national believers often experience opposition and difficulty of various kinds.

Nevertheless, the embryonic fellowship is part of a generally encouraging pattern across Turkey’s 81 provinces. Gradually, more Turks are coming to faith in Christ and, as believers mature, some are able to take up leadership responsibility within the developing church.

Andy has recently returned to Turkey to oversee the church, whilst its Pastor and family are on home leave. Poulner Baptist Chapel has supported Andy and Cherry’s endeavours since they began their training in England. As mission partners with us, they continue to appreciate our support and prayers. They seek the Lord for their future ministry.
