Good News Line - July 2010: page 1 | page 2 | page 3 Regarding Ian Tomlinson, we all saw on our TV screens the incident that led to his untimely death. Yet no one was to blame! Some might say that the policeman who struck and shoved an innocent man has got away with murder. Sadly the Justice system has appeared to let us down; just like it did five years ago when Jean Charles De Menezes, a Brazilian electrician, was shot dead on a tube train at Stockwell. However flawed, be encouraged, justice in our country is better than most. Where then can we get justice, we might well ask? It might be helpful to define justice: treatment that is morally right or fair. Well, the GOOD NEWS is that however badly treated we might feel there is someone who has suffered much greater injustice than any of us might or could imagine. Yet he did not complain. That person is, of course, Jesus God’s perfect Son who during His whole life and ministry did no wrong. Yet He willingly, but not without a tear or two, was cruelly tortured and then crucified by a rubbish tip outside the city of Jerusalem. Why would an innocent man accept a punishment like that, you might ask? The Very Good News is that there is an answer. God on the 6th Day of creation made man and pronounced him good. Then what happened? Back to page 1 | On to page 3...
