How We Began.

Free but not cheap.
"You can have the land for £2" the owner of the site told the small group of people wanting to set up a church in Ringwood, New Forest in 1840.  He then promptly headed the list of subscribers by donating £2 to the fund
.

Although the land was free, the original thatched church was built by the members themselves at great sacrifice in time and money, salaries being pretty meagre by today’s standards.   We look back with amazement at the small group of Christians with real vision for the future.

Now 167 years on, and with lots of subsequent expansion in new buildings, people still hear the Bible’s message with no compromise and 21st Century relevance.  As a church we’re a mixed group of people reflecting our multi-cultural nation; people from UK, Europe, USA,  Africa & Asia all worshipping together.   We have no age barriers and are made up of families, single-parents, young marrieds, singles, teens and retired.

Dead Sure!
One early Minister in 1888 literally preached his heart out and died in the pulpit after delivering his Sunday sermon.  It is not recorded whether he went with a smile on his face or sweat on his brow but we can be sure of his destination!

New Buildings.
Plans are underway for a new church sanctuary to be built, and the first phase has already been completed.  The existing buildings will then be modified to suit our expanding congregation, particularly our work among the young and the elderly.
